Terms Of Use

The Destination Space website is maintained for your personal use and viewing. Access and use by you of this site constitutes acceptance by you of these Terms Of Use that take effect from the first date of use. ASDC as the co-ordinator of Destination Space reserves the right to change these Terms Of Use at any time by posting changes online.

Material on the site may be reproduced free of charge in any format or medium for research, private study and personal non-commercial use. This is subject to the material being reproduced accurately and not used in a misleading context.

You can print out a single hard copy of any part of the content on the Destination Space website for your personal use.

Otherwise no part of this website may be reproduced, stored in a retrieval system or transmitted in any form or by any means, electronic, mechanical, photocopying, recording or otherwise without the prior permission of ASDC.

Hyperlinking to Destination Space

You do not have to ask permission to link directly to pages hosted on this site. We do not object to you linking directly to the information hosted on our site. However we do not permit use of our logo as a link without prior permission or our pages to be loaded into frames on your site. Destination Space’s pages must load into the user’s entire window.

Privacy statement

If you are a user with general public and anonymous access the Destination Space website does not store or capture personal information, but merely logs the user’s IP address that is automatically recognised by the web server. We do not use cookies for collecting user information and we will not collect any information about you except that required for system administration of our web server.

Data protection

The UK Association of Science and Discovery Centres is a privacy conscious organisation and is strongly committed to your right to privacy. That is why we have drafted a Privacy Policy which can be viewed in full on our website sciencecentres.org.uk/privacy

We may process your personal information if you take part in a Destination Space event, project, work within our member organisations, network with our membership, subscribe to the UK Association of Science and Discovery Centres newsletter, volunteer or work with The UK Association of Science and Discovery Centres.

How does Destination Space collect data?

There are several means by which Destination Space collects personally identifiable data, for example:

  • Through inclusion on a mailing list or database
  • For research, surveys or monitoring purposes

Is information passed to third parties?

We will never rent or sell your personal data for commercial purposes and will only ever disclose your data if we are required to do so by law. Other than processes required by the core function of our networking membership charity, we will only ever use your data for specific purposes with your consent.

Keeping your information safe and up-to-date

Your data is held on a secure database with a trusted UK database provider who meets our high ethical standards and complies with our data protections and information security requirements and procedures. We will not share your information with a third party or transfer information to a country or territory outside the EEA (European Economic Area) unless that country or territory ensures and adequate level of protection for the rights, and freedoms of data subjects in relation to the processing of personal data. In the unlikely event that personal data needs to be transferred outside the EEA, your personal information will be anonymised.

Your rights

You always have the right to:

  • Access to a copy of the information we hold about you on our database
  • Object to us processing your data if it is causing damage or distress
  • Prevent us from marketing our events, newsletter or projects to you
  • Object to any decisions that are made through automatic means
  • Rectify inaccurate personal information, block, erase or destroy all your personal information
  • Claim compensation for any damages caused by a breach in Data protection regulation by ASDC
