Big Space Day is a celebration of space science taking place at the Royal Albert Hall in London. You’ll find a range of interactive, engaging and educational activities located across four space-zones around our historic building, including Destination Space activities and equipment that you can test out and experiment with. The event is supported by the UK Space Agency.
The Centre will be opening its doors to uniformed groups from 5pm - 9pm. Tim Peake's mission will be very much in our minds as we explore the night sky (weather and light permitting) and help towards activity badges including science and astronomy.
Explore Tim Peake's Principia Mission to the international Space Station (ISS) and life onboard for the astronauts! You will also experience our new planetarium shows.a
Join us at Dynamic Earth as part of our exciting project Destination Space! Our ‘space-tacular’ Robots event will be celebrating some of the amazing science and technology developed by engineers to support life in space. Discover how robots are used to help astronauts like Tim Peake aboard the International Space Station and how we can control these robots to explore places beyond human reach. Programming sessions will be available throughout the day for junior robot engineers.
Get the chance to dress up as an astronaut and get your picture taken with Tim Peake on board the International Space Station or even on top of the Earth. Make sure you bring your best astronaut smile with you.
